Sometimes It Snows In April, Part 3: Dead of Winter
I was expecting Zeb Wells' story to be good, but I wasn't expecting him to kick the asses of the three other guys writing this book. But that's exactly what he did. In terms of plot, character, and all around fun Wells has delivered and then some! Bachalo's art, while not my cup of tea, serves the story well and I would not object to seeing him back. It's interesting to note that one of the main goals of Brand New Day was to get a more street level Spider-Man and so far the best story has been a mystical one! Amazing #557 is a great conclusion to a great story.
Sometimes It Snows In April, Part 3: Dead of Winter
The conclusion to the "Dead of Winter" story Arc Spider man finds himself face to face with the Mayan God of Death. I found it to be a good read, very entertaining. However I must point out that Kuhul Ajaw had one of the strangest weakness ever.
Especially when you consider his immense power. A blend of humor and action I'm actually enjoying the Brand New Day. One problem (Mephsito absurdity aside) that I do have with it is that the three issues story arcs don't allow the creative teams time to finish. As we see with the "Freak" story arc's snap ending. The arcs though good seemed rush on the last issue, perhaps four instead of three would allow the artist and writers more room to work.
