When he goes into steel form does his hair also turn into steel?

Well I would guess that it depends on whether or not his transformation affects his internal organs. ComicVine seems to say his organs are transformed, so I would guess he cannot impregnate a woman in metallic state (and I wouldn't recommend having unprotected sex with metallic phalluses anyway).

As for his hair, he is drawn as having black hair even in metallic form so I would say it doesn't transform.

I ask because I've seen Mimic withstand a lot of heat in steel form, but I never saw his hair burn off.

Colossus' hair does turn to steel. If I had the scan I'd show you, but the Annual where the X-Men travel to the Savage Land (while they were "dead" and living in Australia), and Colossus meets the child that everyone but him seems to know is his son, he puts the kid on his shoulders, and the kid proceeds to knock on Colossus' flat top while he's in steel form (this was after Fall of the Mutants, when Colossus couldn't turn human again).

The kid knocks on Colossus' hair and says to his mother, "M'am! His hair is solid!"

check out x-men #100....claremont, yu issue....xmen are in an orbiting space station.......everyones having a party except rogue......colossus goes to rogue's room to cheer her up.....rogue accidentally discovers she can touch colossus in steel form without killing him..........then they kiss and...........ROGUE HAS UNPROTECTED SEX WITH steel form COLOSSUS....it's implied but moments later, the station breaks down and colossus and rogue getting dressed look at each other and say " was it something we did?"......check it out

and yes Colossus hair becomes metal too,just pay attention to his hair when he is metal and when is not,if you pay attention you shall see his metal form hair is complete solid and we cant see anything there,but black.
but when normal form,his hair isnt so black and is "separate",so the aswer is in fact "yes"

Yes, his hair is solid, as others have already proved, and he probably can't get a girl pregnant while he's metal, since all his internal organs and liquids become metallic in nature. So while he more than likely can ejaculate, it won't effect a human woman.
