The Story of Clan Destine starts in 1168 A.D. After surviving a near fatal accident with the help of a mysterious women a young boy named Adam is named Adam of Destine by the people of his hometown Ravenscroft.

Adam went to the holy land to battle in the third crusade. He was capture by Al Kadhdhaab a warlord. The warlord wanted him to kill a sorcerer called Sujanaa. Sujanaa was invulnerable while he possessed a magical jem so Adam tricked Sujanaa and took the gem from Sujanaa and killed him. He destroyed the gem and a female genie emerged and together they killed Kadhdhaab and became lovers. It was revealed she was the mysterious woman who had protected him in the past.

Adam and the female genie had many children over the following centuries and because of their unique heritage they all possessed some sort of powers. They family have a psychic link to each other and can sense when another was in danger so they remained very close knit. This all changed however when Adam was forced to kill his son Vincent after he started to abuse his power. Adam left earth afterwards.

All the children have been given longevity, living hundreds of years. They start to age slower after puberty. And durign their late teens they gain magical abilities. They live on a family estate in Ravencroft. They travelled the world. When the kids got older Adam would leave some of the older ones to watch out for the younger ones. The family's greatest fear is someone finding out about them. With their longevity this was hard, but the learned how. When a family member would die they would bury them in the family Graveyard. Their tombstones wouldnt have dates of birth or their real names. 

The threat of the scientist Lentz united the family and a small group of destine and his children have remained together since, and even fought alongside the X-Men in one adventure.
