Plot Summary

This issue follows the return of Captain Marvel from his meditation in the negative zone. For him only days have passed since he entered the zone but for the rest of the world he has been gone for years.

There is also a second story line showing The Sentry and a battle he has with Crusher Creel, the Absorbing Man. Creel absorbs his power as they fight, causing a lot of damage to the area around them. After the battle, The Sentry, realizing the destruction that the fight caused, registers in compliance with the superhuman registration act.

Captain Mar-Vehl was killed by Nitro in the 80's. Isn't it ironic that he is brought back to life to help out in an event that was caused by Nitro. Some how Mar-vehl is pulled out of the timeline just after his battle with Nitro that gave him cancer, but before he was diagnosed with it. I was very impressed with Jenkins' writing and the art was spectacular. The Captain Mar-Vehl story was excellent, it needed to be explained a little bit better though. The Sentry story on the other hand was a little weak. Absorbing Man is a great character that they could have done so much more with then they did in his fight with the Sentry. The Sentry story also makes it difficult to place this issue in a reading order as it seems to take place after New Avengers 24 but in that issue different events happened that caused Sentry to register. All in all I think this is a great issue to add to your collection, i fyou are a Mar-Vehl fan, a Sentry fan or just want a good read

    Why Captain Marvel Should Stay

A surprising issue with two interesting characters that deserve more attention. Mar-Vell finally returns from his lame "death" at the right or wrong time of the Civil War(I guess he never notice the hulk rampaging back to Earth). I enjoyed Jenkins writing was fitting for a change, it made his return seamless and crucial. As for the Sentry story, Marvel really trying to do this character new justice after some confusing past series, and slowly makes up for it with a short fight that should have been fleshed out more. This issue is hopefully the start of some solid series under Marvel's forgotten heros.
