    Origin

Citydweller is a superhero and member of the Protectorate. Citydweller, also known as Jerry, appears human, however has a radically different physiology, almost as if composed of concrete, mortar, steel and electricity. Citydweller is inherently linked to cities and relies on their own existence for his own. This symbiotic relationship with large urban structures allows Citydweller to experience cities as if they were sentient individuals with their own personalities and mannerisms, and allows for communication between Citydweller and various cities as well as grants him powers and abilities within cities.

A member of the Protectorate, he serves alongside Zeitgeist, Professor (Nate Xavier), Thor, White Bird, Nightfighter and Technocrat. Their team has been successful for many years in safeguarding their world and reality, existing to protect, when things need protection. They operate out of a subspace location known as the Foldcastle which grants them to be anywhere they need at a moments notice.

He appears alongside his team as a group introduction. Citydweller as well as the rest of his team bare somewhat obvious similarities with Wildstorms Authority team and members.

    Character Evolution

Citydweller appears as supporting character in the latter end of the X-Man series. Introduced alongside a new team of superheroes the character only appeared for a limited number of issues and is unlikely to appear again. The character is also notable as far as being a member of a team directly inspired by the Authority. Whilst characters like Superman, Batman, Spiderman and teams like Justice League and Avengers and Fantastic Four are often used as a source for imitation, the Authority being a much newer and modern team has fewer examples.

Qabiri would be more than a match for the powerful team, when the more powerful members of the team Thor, Zeitgeist and Professor would show up Qabiri would fly away prompting Thor and Professor to follow. Citydweller was the first to have his health negatively affected by Qabiri as he holds an empathetic bond with cities, Manhattan was dead, Queens was catatonic, Brooklyn sobbed and the Bronx had flashed Citydweller a rude gesture. Powers and Abilities

Citydweller possesses a unique and powerful physiology, resembling a human but with a symbiotic connection to man made city structures. Citydweller relies on city structures for his health, his distance from urban structures weakening him, his close proximity to them empowering him. Citydweller can interact and communicate with cities as if they were human, and he can gain super powered levels of strength, durability, agility, speed, resilience and size with their aid. Citydweller can essentially become a part of any given city and as such requires no conventional nutrition or sustenance. Citydweller can teleport using cities or garner information from them.

Citydweller can also control parts of city in his immediate proximity. Injury to or destruction of cities will however have a negative toll on Citydweller.
