Charles Martin "Chuck" Jones (September 21, 1912 - February 22, 2002) was 1 of the most famous directors of cartoons for Warner Brothers studios. Along with other animators such as Tex Avery, Chuck Jones developed popular characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and Wile E. Coyote and The Road-Runner. When Warner Brothers shut down its animation division in 1962, Jones started to work on other cartoons such as Tom & Jerry and many other projects . He was given an honorary Academy Award in 1996 for his lifetime of work... One of his favorite characters Michigan J. Frog. Chuck Jones died in 2002 at his home in Corona del Mar, California, where he had been suffering from congestive heart failure.

During the Golden Age of animation he helped bring many of Warner Bros. most famous characters to life. He helped create characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and Elmer Fudd. By himself he created the charactes Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Michigan J. Frog, Pepe le Pew, and many more. Jones also produced, directed, and made screenplays for "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "The Phantom Tollbooth." Jones was also sn amazing artist whose work has been displayed in museums worldwide.
Awards
Chuck Jones recieved many awards in his lifetime. In a career lasting over 60 years he made more than 300 film animations. He won three Oscars and in 1996 an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement. One of his most valued awards and recognitions was his honorary lifetime membership in the Directors Guild of America.

After his death Cartoon Network aired the Chuck Jones Show as a dedication to him. The Chuck Jones Show played numerous cartoons produced by Chuck. These cartoons included Tom & Jerry, Pop-Eye and many more.
