Acting Profile

Christian Bale is the very definition of a character actor and someone who completely melds himself into whatever character he is currently playing. This is no more evident than when Bale played the character Trevor Reznik in The Machinist, this role saw Bale lose over 60 pounds, develop a harmful diet (of only coffee and apples) and sleeping patterns (going days without sleeping), in order to devote himself to the character.

Bale's commitment to his roles was also obvious when he gained 100 lbs to accurately play the part of Batman, going from around 130 lbs to 230 lbs in just under six months time.
