Christopher John "Chris" Offutt is an American writer of short stories, memoirs, novels, and non-fiction, whose work has appeared in anthologies such as Best American Short Stories and New Stories of the South. He has also written and produced episodes for the TV series True Blood and Weeds.
In 2005, he had one of his short stories, "Another Man's Escape", illustrated by Thomas Yeates and reprinted in Michael Chabon Presents: The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist; issue #6. Originally, Offutt had written this story in 1983 as a chapter for an unfinished Escapist one-shot.
In 2009, he wrote the short story "The Last Hit" to Noir - A Collection of Crime Comics; published by Dark Horse.
