It is safe to say that Toni Chu is getting married! While Space Cakes is ending, and CHEW is only 30 issues away from completion. What could go wrong on this day of matrimony? If you really know John Layman and his writing for this series, then you should know by now that things always end badly.

    The Good

After some of the let downs in the previous issues, John Layman really outdid himself in this one. Toni Chu has been in the limelight while her brother [Tony], whom is the main protagonist of the series, been recuperating since Major League Chew. Since then, John Layman's stories have been good enough to pass, but not all the past stories featuring Toni have been really great. Also the wait for the next issue and the last-minute change in making the next issue come out a month later, has not helped either. However, now that issue 30 is here, it is safe to say that all the wait is finally paid off.

Toni's story in this 30th issue really credits the excellent writing done by John Layman. From start to finish, John Layman never hits the breaks and delivers a gut wrenching ending [the death of Toni Chu, Tony's sister] that will make any fan of the series stay for more.

Rob Guillory is an outstanding artist just because of his unique style and the overall look of everything in the issue.

    The Verdict

Space Cakes ends with this issue and by the looks of this epic ending, Tony Chu will return! Though CHEW is growing closer to the 60 issue mark, John Layman and Rob Guillory are really going to step up their game after this one issue. This is the perfect time to jump on the CHEW bandwagon, as the first half ends here and the second half begins with issue 31!

This is the half way point to the series, and this one is a game changer. The stories in Chew are written in 5 issue story lines. This is the the conclusion of the Space Cakes story, and the Wedding of Toni Chew, Tony Chew's twin sister. Like Tony, Toni also has a food based power. If she bites someone she can see their future. Not everything, but important things. She is marrying her CIA boss Daneer. The wedding itself is typical Chew bizarreness. It's amazing. Everyone shows up, including th...

Oh wow. In all honestly, only one thing needs to be said about this issue. Because anyone reading this is already reading it. Chew NEEDS to be read from the beginning, and I encourage EVERYONE to read Chew because it's just goddamn amazing. The premise seems very concept-heavy, but the plot is actually amazingly intricate without being befuddling. It's one of the funniest damn things I've ever read in my entire life. Chew is HILARIOUS.Which is why this issue caught me off guard. Yes, it's still ...
