Charlie was a victim of school bullying, who as an adult became the victim of his own scientific experiments. Edit

Charlie Weiderman grew up with Peter Parker and attended the same high school as him. Like Parker, he was the constant target of school bullies, but unlike Parker he was also physically abused at home. He attempted to recreate the super-soldier formula only to land himself in the hospital. He also pulled a knife on his bullies at school.

As an adult, Charlie worked on creating a synthetic skin that soldiers could wear to absorb impact. Charlie approached Peter to get a grant of vibranium from industrialist Tony Stark. Charlie grew impatient with the results and cut corners until the experiment exploded resulting in the synthetic skin being permanently grafted to him.

Charlie used is newfound abilities to strike out at those who bullied him long ago. He killed two former classmates, destroyed Parker's apartment and planned to kill Aunt May and Mary Jane. Spider-man was able to use equipment at Stark International to immobilize Charlie by solidifying the vibranium.
