Moon Knight's always been a favorite of mine.  I hated how he kept getting new series only for them to get canceled.  This current one started out with a bang.  I'm just a little concerned at how the cuckoo factor is such a big role.  Sure all the years of having different personas may have caused some problems but I just don't remember him being this crazy.  And I don't know what is up with Khonshu.  He's pretty much a jerk for a deity.

As for this "new direction," my fingers are crossed.  I am glad that Charlie Huston is still co-plotting.  He did a lot to revive Moon Knight (again).  Mike Benson has stated that he is a fan.  That's good.  Both of them had a love for the character which helped to bring more life into him.  I also love how he just wants to stick it to Stark.  Funny that he's the anti-hero yet he's a government employee.  Even Steve Rogers knew he was too inbalanced to serve.  I don't like the sound of "hidden foes" plotting against him.  But without the bad guys, it'd be a boring comic.

He’s defeated his greatest enemies. He’s survived Civil War and joined the Initiative. But now that he’s leaving piles of broken bodies in his wake, Moon Knight is about to become a marked man in Moon Knight #14! Award-winning television scribe Mike Benson (Punisher MAX Annual 2007, HBO’s Entourage) takes over the writing reins with co-plotter Charlie Huston and the fan favorite art team of Mark Texeira & Javier Saltares (Ghost Rider) to usher in a bold new era for everyone’s favorite dark avenger! Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, created the Initiative to show what good super heroes can do when run by a governing body—so just what does he do with the poster child for super-powered irresponsibility? The shocking first chapter of “God & Country” sets Moon Knight down a path of no return—with hidden foes plotting his downfall!

“Marc Spector is a broken man,” explained Benson. “He's unpredictable. Nothing comes easy to him. He's an underdog and he's not afraid to fight dirty to get what he wants. I'm a fan of the character and I'm trying to write what I would like to see as a fan -- cool dialogue, hardcore fight sequences and good conflict. I have this wonderful opportunity to play in the Marvel Universe and I want to make the most of it.”

With the return of an old foe on the horizon—one sure to put a smile on the faces of Moon Knight fans—and an imminent confrontation with Tony Stark, this is your chance to get onboard “God & Country,” a startling new direction for one of 2007’s most popular vigilantes in Moon Knight #14!

Aw man, why Mark, why?  He fought the law and law won?  I think that Moon Knight has something up his sleeve.  He wants to kick bad guys' butt and joining the Initiative will grant him a license to do so.  I can't see Stark giving him free reign.  Then again, they did work together before.   I am saddened that Charlie Huston's run is over.  It's been a fun ride even though it almost seems that Moon Knight has become crazier over the twelve issues.

He’s fought against the system, but now Moon Knight joins The Initiative in the special double-sized Moon Knight #13, by acclaimed novelist Charlie Huston and special guest artist Tomm Coker! After Iron Man makes him an offer he can’t refuse, Marc Spector decides to work with the government and he’ll do whatever it takes to get his registration card. But when he’s forced to undergo a revealing psychiatric evaluation, is there any way that anyone could find Moon Knight to be sane and fit for duty? Meanwhile, those whose lives have been touched during Charlie Huston’s acclaimed first year on Moon Knight evaluate their lives and set themselves down new paths, leading to a fiery conclusion!

“[Huston’s] dialogue and pacing mixes very well with the Moon Knight mythos,” exclaimed Jason Zwiker of PopMatters.com. “He can even wax eloquent on the madness and mayhem and give it a few kicks (right in the ribs, maybe breaking a few in the process) of slapstick.”

Packed with extra pages of story, Moon Knight #13 delves deep into the mind of Moon Knight, setting the stage for incoming writer Mike Benson’s (of HBO’s Entourage and Punisher MAX Annual fame) thrilling new direction for the series! How far will Moon Knight go to gain government clearance to fight crime? Find out in Moon Knight #13!

This post relates to: Charlie Huston, Moon Knight, Mico Suayan

I've always liked Moon Knight.  I know people compare him to Batman but I think they are completely different.  Despite all his training, Batman still seems like he's had a more pampered life.  Yes they were both millionaires but Moon Knight didn't simply inherit his fortune.  And yeah he sort of had a side-kick but not in the strange way as Batman did.  It's hardly even worth mentioning.  His "sidekick" didn't define who he was.  Charlie Huston's been doing a great job bringing Moon Knight back.  He was gone for too long.  I suggest picking up the Essential Moon Knight to see the early stories.  Volume 2 is coming out in a couple months.

Acclaimed author Charlie Huston wraps up his stunning first year on Moon Knight with the pulse-pounding Moon Knight #12! A mentor and student have become bitter enemies, as Moon Knight must face his former sidekick Midnight for one final battle. Can the former hero be saved from the darkness within or will he be a victim of Moon Knight’s savage brutality? Last time Moon Knight went all out, his opponent was left beaten, broken and skinned alive…so Midnight better hope that he lives to see the sunrise! And things won’t be easy for Marc Spector, AKA Moon Knight, as Iron Man comes calling to see if he’s an ally or an enemy of the Initiative!

“All I can say is sit back and enjoy the ride,” gushed BrokenFrontier.Com’s Kenneth Gallant of Moon Knight.

After his war of words with Iron Man and his war of fists (and other limbs) with Midnight, the many lives of Moon Knight will forever be altered…and that means someone’s going down! It all happens in Moon Knight #12—and there’s no turning back after this!

Moon Knight, Moon Knight, Moon Knight.  Say it with me.

Great minds think alike…and sometimes they’re thinking about how best to beat you senseless with your own limbs, as Marc Spector learns in Moon Knight #11. His former protégé Midnight has returned with a vengeance and the penultimate chapter of the acclaimed series’ second arc brings the titular hero a new ally: The Profile! Guest-starring Iron Man and tying into the wildly popular The Initiative storyline, noted crime novelist Charlie Huston and rising penciling star Mico Suayan raise the stakes for a bruised & battered Marc Spector!

“All I can say is sit back and enjoy the ride,” exclaimed Kenneth Gallant of BrokenFrontier.Com of Moon Knight, further describing the series as, “nothing short of being a truly gritty exposé on a fallen hero.”

Martijn Form of SilverBulletComicBooks.Com concurred, saying, “The more issues of Moon Knight I read, the more I like this book,” also predicting that new series artist Marco Suayan “will become the industry's next top artist.”

Fallout from Civil War, friend against friend and The Profile’s unique perspective on what makes Moon Knight tick—all that and more in Moon Knight #11!

This post relates to: Moon Knight, Charlie Huston, Mico Suayan, Punisher

Revenge is a Dish Served  Bloody.  Man oh man, I cannot get enough of Moon Knight.  I never got the whole comparison to Batman back in the day.  I'm so glad the way this series has been going.  Moon Knight is back with a vengeance.  You don't wanna mess with him.  Charlie Huston has been pure gold on this.  New artist Mico Suayan has jumped without missing a beat.  Now I only hope that the television show due next year will do the character justice.

Marc Spector has been to hell and back over the last year, as his super hero persona Moon Knight made some shocking decisions. But now that he’s seemingly on the road to putting his life back together, rebuilding the body that houses his once broken spirit, tragedy intends to strike in the form of an old friend. Moon Knight #10 continues the gripping “Midnight Son” storyline by noted novelist Charlie Huston and new artist Mico Suayan. And what would a story about revenge be without The Punisher? The two heroes have crossed paths before, but with the fallout from Civil War, both men have been changed irrevocably. Is the city big enough for both of them? We’re going to find out!

The critics continue to rave about this gritty super hero series. “I think Moon Knight is one of the best series out from Marvel Comics right now and I feel anyone who likes a good story should be reading this,” said Timothy Lee of PaperbackReader.Com.

Writer Charlie Huston reflects on his MOON KNIGHT run. "These things are a lot more work than they look like," he says. "I think the popular perception of creating comics is of a bunch of overgrown adolescents bouncing ideas around the Marvel bullpen and pulling out the ones they think are coolest and going to work. The truth is that it's rather more like tweezing the wings from dead flies and transplanting them to disabled flies born without wings. If that makes sense. There's just an enormous amount of detail work involved in crafting a 22 page comic that develops character, moves plot, allows for the requisite amount of action, fits with Marvel continuity, and is, in fact, reasonably cool. It's fun, but it's most certainly work."

Don’t miss a moment as Charlie Huston starts moving the pieces towards the shocking conclusion of his first year on Moon Knight. If you think you know how it’s all going to end, you’re probably wrong!
