It´s amazing how Van Lente created a team of Avengers so unique, so different, with so unlikely members, that the only thing in commom is that they are all dead (and brought back to life in hope for second chances). A Druid you can´t truly trust, an alien with honor trying to be a leader, a Yellow Jacket young girl who started as a thieve, an alien trying to regain her honor, a swordsman from France who can´t be trusted either and a synthzoid in search for humanity. All of them trying to do heroic stuff and facing a powered up Eric Willians (Reaper) who seeks only revenger, whose hate is so big that atracted to himself Nekra (an Hindu believer of the Goddes of Death). The most interesting thing about this series is how Van Lente gradually tells the background stories of every member of this Dead Avengers team: in issue # 1 it was the origins of Swordman and Vision, and now it´s Mar-vell´s and Deathcry´s. Tom Gummett´s classic art is very good too. This is an entertaining book (I liked the short appearence of Sharon Carter), perhaps one of the best tie-ins of the Chaos War.
