Tentacles of dreams
What you do when you have godlike powers and there´s a being (who´s also a god) trying to destroy and annihilate everything? You team up with Earth´s greatest heroes and go face the threat! But what do you do when this gathering of heroes, along with every single human being that comes near the Chaos King (god of chaos), fall asleep? First, you banter a little, chat with your friends about tactics and warfare plans, then you start calling the really heavy hitters: Eternity, Galactus, Sersi, Venus and Daimon Hellstrom. And when you learn that even the most powerful gods of existence, such as Zeus, Pluto, Satan himself, Hela, are all falling down against Chaos King´s power, you start to wonder what you´ll have to do to make things right again.
The Good - It´s a very well ilustrated comic book, that can please a vast amount of fans (not specifcally Marvel or Koi Pham´s fans), whats very apealing. There are good dialogues, like the one between Amadeus, Thor and Hercules. There´s the return of Sersi, one of the best time Avengers for me. The appearence of Eternity and the fact that it won´t do squat.
The Bad - There are some loose points in the plot that aren´t working properly, like Galactus and Silver Surfer (as master and herald?? Is Norrin working for the world eater again?), again I get the feeling that the story is moving very fast, like Hela just rushes in Hades with Chaos King´s hordes, whom very easily take the place down (happened the same in Hell).
Overall/Verdict - This is a fun book, it´s very amusing seeing Hercules with so much power and yet he doesn´t know yet how to control it, neither how to control himself, so in the future issues we´ll see Herc growing up and confronting the Chaos King. The art and the dialogues compensate for the narrative, that isn´t the best (we know that Chaos King is taking over all the other god´s domains but how this will serve his purpose, to bring hell on earth? Does he want to kill everyone? How does he plan to destroy the universe? This isn´t explained right, his goals and the means he´ll use to achieve it).
