    Chantal De Spiegeleer was born in the Belgian Congo on April 14 1957. In 1975 she studies art at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels. She starts her comic book career in 1982 and is quickly noticed by Le Journal De Tintin. She takes a break from the industry in the mid-nineties to work on video games, virtual painting and fabric creation. She now lives in the Grenadines, in the Caribbean, where she survives her late husband René Sterne.
