Deadman is sent to help heal the still ailing Prof Haley. When he revives, he insists that the Challengers try to help cure the Swamp Thing for all his help.

The Challengers return to Perdition, PA, but find no trace of the Swamp Thing. Deadman, taking possession of Ace reveals to the Challengers that the Swamp Thing is in fact in Philadelphia now - and he's in trouble!

The Challengers of the Unknown were one of Jack Kirby's most overlooked creations at D.C. Basically a rough draft for The Fantastic Four, it was one of the first super teams to feature family/team dynamics that would eventually lead to such popular titles in the 1980s as the X-Men and the Teen Titans.  This particular issue - from the late 70s is a good example of comics on the cusp of the wonderful 1980s.
