The second issue of Cerebus features another direct Conan homage (spoof?). The story begins very much like the time when Conan (at the time appearing in Marvel Comics) was fighting along with the Aesir when the Hyperboreans captured them on the snowy battlefields of the north. Here, Cerebus is fighting with an unnamed army when he's captured by the "Borealans". After defeating their champion, he joins them, but in a battle with ensorceled minions ends up falling into a cavern where he encounters a succubus.

This issue was pretty much an indication that Dave Sim's Cerebus was not going to be a mere one-off indie comic. Unpretentious and fun.
