Central City

The Spirit

Central City has always played an important role in the adventures of The Spirit. It seemed to be based on the way Will Eisner viewed New York City. Central City is chock full of dark alleys, tall buildings, evil crime bosses, and crooked politicians.

DC Universe

Central City was created as the home of the Silver Age Flash (Barry Allen). Central City, like a large amount of DC Universe locations, is ill defined in terms of exact geography. Originally is was located somewhere in Ohio near Athens, but it was later shown to be located in Florida. Now it is located in Missouri across the river from Keystone City. There is a bridge connecting the two cities together.

It is the home of the Central City Police Department, where Barry Allen works as a forensic scientist. Central City was also originally home to The Rogues, but after Barry Allen's death they moved to Keystone City and became enemies of Wally West.
