Yes she does. She don't need no batman to define her character. She's her strong independent woman who don't need no man.Having her own titles was good so we can let her character grow without batman.I like to see her flirt with other men other than batman.Steve Trevor looks looks well for her in the upcoming book JL of America.

She does love him(and vice versa) but she is very independent and very protective of her independence. both batman and catwoman have had similar past's filled with pain and loss so it creats a very speacial bond and understanding between them. she is one of the very few people that will say "no" to bruce if she doesnt want to do something he wants her to do which kinda of makes her alot more like him, both chracters dont take crap from anybody. their relationship can be strained because they're usally on oppsite side of the law but they still show at the right moment that they love eachother

    Doubtful.

I think Catwoman finds Batman "fun" and he finds her intriguing, but "love" is a bit strong to define what exists between them.

After reading Eggman scramble from Archie comics it would be something if someone called her out. The person will state she is manipulator and she can’t love. She is back stabber and if the time will arrive she would choose the prize over him. She will lie to herself to say she wouldn’t but that person will be right.

Now that can be wrong since she does love her cat, but she is a manipulator. It would be something if Harley called her out. She is a psychologist and she would state the problem. This is why the trio Harley, Ivy and kitty won’t work because kitty does not trust Ivy or Harley. Harley can keep a secret she is a psychologist and she never use the secrets she knew for her advantage. Then again she was just starting out. I do not know how the continuity is at this moment.

Hmmm I think he is the person she has been closest to, and may think she loves him, but I'm not sure if she is IN love with him. The two share mutual interest in each other and beating the hell out of people so they have sparks and in that line of work sparks may be as close to loves as you get.

@chipsnopotatoes: Sure, and there have been "alternate universe" and "Elsewhere" stories where they've been further involved as well. But for the modern era in the main company line, their relationship isn't so loving.

I didn't see the OP limit the question to current mainline continuity where Judd Winick and DC Comics shat all over their relationship. If you don't like the Earth 2 example, how about TDKR, a movie that half the planet saw. Did you comprehend the implications of the pearls and the ending?

Or perhaps you missed the subtleties of what Nolan was trying to convey. Selina was wearing his mother's pearls during the cafe ending (if you didn't catch it the first time, you should check it again when the BluRay comes out + it's explicitly stated in the movie novelization). Given that they were Bruce's only remaining memento of his beloved mother, it's not something he'd give to one who was just a friend or an ally. Also, in many cultures, it's quite traditional to give jewelry that's a family heirloom to your wife.

Nolan may not have hit us over the head with an explicit romance (and even provided a decoy), but he was leading to that all along when he had Selina steal Bruce's mother's pearls, that comment about "my wife", etc. That is Nolan's style. He likes his audience to do a little thinking and reading between the lines.

Nolan's style is to cut away at the last second and not tell us if the top falls or not. Warner Brother's style is to show us Bruce and Selina sitting in a cafe.

Have you seen other Nolan movies aside from Batman and Inception? He's not always as ambiguous as you might think. I recommend The Prestige. It's better than Inception IMO.

In this case, he's ending his trilogy. You really think he's not gonna tie up loose ends?

those that say catwoman just uses batman for sex clearley get that fact from the new 52. pre-flashpoint,(and other universes) their relationship was really close and romantic and if you thought other wise then havent read the right comics. they have fun flirting and sex refernces but they have also shown very strong love for eachother. at least pre-flashpoint they did. what dc have done in the new 52 is disgraceful, really hoping their realationship will go back to being properley romantic.

Awfully gracious of you to concede that.

Depends on how narrowly you define source material. Is one year of DCnU going to make everyone forget their pre-crisis and post crisis romances? Before the reboot, their relationship actually progressed quite a bit.

In case you need a reminder, a poster named Glaucus has summarized their history in this thread:

We're all welcome to take whatever bits and pieces of character history we like to form characterization.

The iconic Catwoman of the past 30 years has had a flirty cat-and-mouse relationship with Batman.

If we prefer to go further back with the characters, that's fine. But I prefer my Batman to be the post-gun-toting Batman. If you really consider the whole character history, then you're getting a mixed message about their relationship.

Personally, if Supes and the Flash could get married 20-30 years ago (crisis, flashpoint, etc, aside) I don't see why this couldn't be the most perfect point in time in comics for Batman and Catwoman to actually have a legitimate relationship going on. But then again that's a biased opinion.

This question has real value, since modern trends in queer cinema and RPG cults have brought newfound respect for alternative love stories, so why not imagine an eccentric Bat-Cat family (for the cider)?

Bruce has been in love with Selina apart from Earth 2

He has been in love with her before Crisis on Infinite Earth when she was reformed and became a crimefighter

He also has been in love with her after Crisis on Infinite Earth and before Flashpoint and expressed it in Heart of Hush storyline comic issues

Currently, he is in love with her now.
