    Catwoman is a fictional character originating from DC Comics. Under the costumed alias of Catwoman, Selina Kyle, is a cat burglar with an on-again, off-again, romantic relationship with Batman. She is shown as a woman who is very strong-willed, independent and morally dubious.

    @battyfan1: Am I really the only Catwoman fan around that really loves the Miller origin? 
    I always thought that was an interesting way of going about things, especially for the fact that it made 
    Selina three-dimensional for me... We all have done things that we're not proud of, and we grow from 
    those experiences. And it was definitely a innovative route to go about things in making Selina's character 
    more real.

    @battyfan1: Yeah, i HOPE they start from her beginnings, not having her already as Catwoman, and maybe get her out of the shadow of the bat, i'd like to see her have her own adventures with her own supporting cast!

    @CatBoy: you know.... it would be interesting if MILLER was not the man behind it........he just did it for the sake of it....i mean look at elektra....... 
     
    also, for me the original catwoman of the 1990s was awesome.....she was progressing really well.....i had no problems the story about her crudy childhood /mother commits suicide......father dies later....her sister and her separated by institutions.......she trains herself to become the best of the best......not everyone goes into prostitution.....i never understood that! 
    i find that cliche in comics......not creative or imaginative at all

    yeah...like the 1990s where she is an adventurer.......independent female taking the international scene by storm.......i loved that....i wouldn't mind if bats and her crossed some story arcs....but she was strong enough to support her own book......even out sold WW

    @battyfan1: Well, they then intertwined that story with Miller's in Catwoman Annual #2, which I liked, I guess I was raised with 
    that backstory, so I have always had Year One on a mantle. I loved the Balent Catwoman - don't get me wrong. I hope that we get back to our Adventuress, but maybe in a different way. I guess we will have to wait and see :-) I'm excited.

    Sounds good. And yeah "was a prostitute but then wanted not to be" is kind of a cliche, degrading origin for what should be a front-running female character for DC. Catwoman could be a big title for them. Everyone knows the character from the films, god-awful as one of them was. 
     
    I actually liked the Batman Animated Series motivations/origins of Catwoman. I don't know why that version was blonde, but a thief because she's trying to fund wildlife preservation was a good mix of good intentions, bad methods that worked for a morally ambiguous character. They could, of course, expand that to helping the people who live in the slums of Gotham rather than wildlife preservation if they wanted to hit the same notes as the Miller origin, but without actually making her a prostitute.

    i seriously think they are cancelling gotham city sirens ): this book was amazing for the first 16 issue, kinda went down hill when they just focused on one character at a time

    but the as a team they were amazing
