Could have gotten off to a stronger start
Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos are fighting rioting people abroad, that are infected with the Gah Lak Tus swarm. A.I.M seized this opportunity to form the Gah Lak Tus cult, for those not fully consumed by the swarm, but still under their influence.
Fury and his Commandos are being overwhelmed, and the Commandos plead with Fury to use their secret weapon, but Fury refuses, claiming these are innocent people. Eventually though, he gives in, when he realizes there is no other way out.
They shoot out a giant glass bullet, loaded with a person, which it turns out is Bruce Banner, who becomes the Hulk upon impact with the ground. Unfortunately, even the Hulk becomes overwhelmed and infected with the Gah Lak Tus swarm. The issue ends with Fury and the Commandos, realizing they are pretty screwed.
I´m glad we got to see the Howling Commandos again, and they are used to great effect here.Pretty much all of them gets at least one line each, and it´s either funny, or fits the scene very well. I wonder how big of a part A.I.M will play in this mini series. Will they just be a background player, or will they affect the story in any major way? My initial bet is on the former, but we´ll see how that plays out.
