    Carol used to be a pilot, but, after her father retired, she gave it up to run the family business (Ferris Air, a company in Coast City that makes aircraft). She hired her childhood friend, Hal Jordan, as a test pilot. Soon after Hal became a Green Lantern, Carol found herself possessed by a Star Sapphire gem. The gem gave her power, but also altered her personality when used. After the formation of the Star Sapphire Corps however, Carol has been able to remain herself and act as a hero.

    From the Washington Journal to the New York News to Hollywood Reporter to MTV, everyone's putting out the word that Blake Lively has signed on as Carol Ferris in the upcoming Green Lantern movie.   Reportedly, the role will be very faithful to the comic character with Carol Ferris running her father's aerospace company and dealing with cocky test pilot Hal Jordan.  Already one source is predicting Lively's future in the role if the big screen Green Lantern is a success - a Star Sapphire movie, anyone?

    I like her, so I have no problem with her being in the movie.

    I am sooo happy about this casting!
    I am a huge fan of Blake Lively.   I think she's super-beautiful and talented.
     
    Also, I am glad they have chose someone different and not as well-known  instead of choosing the obvious choices of Eva Green or Jennifer Garner. (:  I also think Blake will have awesome chemistry with Ryan Reynolds.
