After encountering the Kree hero Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers was accidentally subjected to otherworldly radiation that transformed her into a superhuman warrior. Calling herself Ms. Marvel, she established herself as one of the most powerful and prominent heroes and respected member of the Avengers. She has now adopted the mantle of Captain Marvel for herself.
@Namor1987: You probably never read the Ms. Marvel series, where she met with Jessica for coffee a few times. She also was leaning against the wall talking to Jessica in New Avengers. And they appeared together to help Wanda in Avenger vs X-Men #0. They have fought together quite frequently, you just may not have noticed.

I've read Ms.Marvel Vol.1 & 2 and Jessica doesn't appear very often.

Thanks for the information I love them both & was just wondering about that.
Ms. Marvel, but it's mainly due to her personality, powers and back story rather than costume choices. If I like the character, I don't care about hairstyle or costume choice as much.
Spider Woman is weird to me - like her costume really needs to be updated and she needs a different name. Too bad Black Widow was taken.
I really love the dynamic between Peter and Carol. On a side note, despite some of the criticism Carol new 'Captain Marvel' title is getting, I really liked the interaction the two of them had in the first issue. Hopefully Spiderman makes more appearances down the road.
