Carnage is the offspring of the alien symbiote Venom. It bonded with the crazed serial killer, Cletus Kasady, thus creating one of Spider-Man's most murderous, brutal, and lethal adversaries.
Carnage sucks.That whole insanity thing..over done.How many insane villains can we have? How many symbiotes can we have? The whole symbiote thing is so boring now.What is the point of bringing him back? So Spider-Man can own him again? So he can fight Venom.I'd rather that not happen.Thing is..I know Carnage will be back,because all of Spider-Man's villains are coming back.Some of them needed to and I didn't mind but Carnage should stay dead.There is nothing cool about the character what so ever.

Venom got me into comics in the first place, I thought Carnage was a great concept. They should've stopped at Toxin though, Regardless, I've just always liked him. Dunno why.

Carnage is the same exact thing as Venom..he's just clinically insane.The symbiotes themselves is not what makes the characters lame..the fact that they all do the same sh#t is what makes them lame.I liked Toxin.I read his mini then Marvel pretended he would be part of the Initiative and then they completely left him out it.

Venom: Hero, that will kill anyone lives as long as it saves the innocent. Now, that is clearly the darker side of spider-man. Plus, Spider-man created Venom.
Carnage: Pure Villain. Kills lives. Everyone lives. Darker side to Venom but on a whole new level.

Sounds alot like a few characters Marvel already has.

It would be interesting is he wasn't in it. Would make an awesome story for his own series. Him traveling the world killing people but at the same time just losing his mind. wearing the muscles and blood of his victims looking like Carnage. then he can get killed and sent to Hell where he meets Blackheart. The two then fight there way out of Hell and back on to earth. It could end with Carnage and Blackheart trying to kill Dare Devil but fail. Cletus then bums into the New Mr. Sinister and takes him to some hidden location. It ends with the X-Men confronted by Cletus in his new Carnage form.

Venom, Anti-Venom, Toxin, Carnage, and that group of symbiotes from a long time ago. BAH! Too many. I think Venom and Anti-Venom are more than enough. Carnage is also boring.

Marvel had no choice..how long do you think an Alien costume was going to last? You can only go but so far with the idea.The fact there is still any around is a miracle.
They could've lasted longer than they did. I'm just saying I liked the idea of a bunch of alien goop turning someone into a freaky looking monster and giving him extraordinary powers. Marvel could have let it stay a little bit of a mystery. Instead, they decided to have a whole planet of them and have 8738946598639428 symbiotes.
Carnage was a bit of fresh air at the time. Consider what was going on with Spidey when Carnage showed up: a pair of robots were pretending to be his parents. I remember reading those comics and thinking to myself, "sweet jeebus, does this kid have anyone else in his life he can lose? Oh? Is that Carnage? Thank god, we can get back to some superheroics!"
But looking back, Carnage was more than a little derivative. He was the villainous progeny of a character who was himself the anti-hero progeny of Spiderman.
