    THE GOOD

The art is unlike anything I had seen. It is more realistic than the normal comic. It fits perfectly with this story though, the more real looking, the more "horror". The writing was great too. I had never seen the Avengers written this way - it added a neat bout of realism to the story.

If you are new to Carnage, this is a fine starting point. At least it was for me. It simply made me want to go back and read up on Cletus Kasady and some of the other Carnage stories...

    THE BAD

The only thing I found odd about the issue was the way that the Avengers handled the "capture" of Carnage. It is not like this was the first time they had ever encountered him... AND they had Spider-Man. I guess it makes for good cliffhanger, but still. This is the only reason I gave it a 4.5/5.

    THE VERDICT

Recommended. I had no knowledge of Carnage before I picked up this issue. Now, I am interested. In fact, I want to go back and purchase Carnage 1-5 from last year. I really liked the team dynamics - it just seemed more real than anything I had read in the past with the Avengers. The twist/cliffhanger ending was pretty great, and has me wanting the next issue.

I don't know how else to say it. The art is so fantastic. It creates a mood that is looming and dark and I love it.This issue sets up for so much. With the last pages of this book, I GUARANTEE this is going to be ...

Okay Marvel, you have my attention. 0

If you've been following my reviews, you may or may not have noticed that I have yet to review something from the Marvel side of things. That's because I find Marvel's current stories so utterly convoluted (and for the most part, stupid) that I just can't follow them. However, while in the comic store today, this little number caught my eye. Though I never finished the miniseries that preceded this, (I'll get around to it eventually) I do so love the artwork of Clayton Crain and feel that drawin...
