Carmilla Black
Carmilla Black is a comic book character that first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #7Carmilla Black is the new Scorpion with poison-based powers but she has no connection to the original Scorpion. Her mother genetically designed her and other kids called the Wakers. Formerly part of SHIELD, Carmilla's current loyalities are something of a mystery, but she remains a effective spy and hero.
Poison Tomorrow
Carmilla discovered her power when she was still in high school. During her prom her arm began to act up and it accidentally killed her prom date and turned her hair a dark green. Because she lived in a small town she decided there was no way she could stay. She went off into the world and became a strong, independent woman. Years later she was brought back to the town when she discovered her parents had been killed. While she was back she came across her Madripoor adoption certificate which amazed her because her parents claimed they knew nothing of her terrorist mother. While she was in the town she was attacked by A.I.M. but SHIELD managed to rescue her. When they got her Agent Khanata explained that A.I.M. killed her parents, who her mother was, and why they needed her. They gave her a gauntlet device that would not only contract, expand, and regulate her powers, but also help her keep in touch with SHIELD as an agent. She was then sent off to Madripoor to find out more about her mother.
On the plane, Carmilla met Troy who became her companion in Madripoor during the day. At night, Carmilla set out to learn more about herself. First, she visited an orphanage that had denied her access to the files because she lost her adoption certificate in the earlier fight with A.I.M.. While she was there she managed to free several orphaned girls, but was hit with a lethal amount of poison. Luckily, she overcame it and woke up inside a building that was to be set on fire. She managed to escape, but she seemed to withstand a lethal amount of smoke. Troy saw her and said she must be a superhero. Later while the two were out Carmilla was attacked by different SHIELD agents which was odd because she was told she would never seem them. It turned out they were working on a job involving Carmilla's mom who they believed would contact her.
Her mother did contact her and when she went to meet her the SHIELD agents lost contact and Carmilla awoke in an odd building that had a fully functional eco-system. This was one of many A.I.M. headquarters where they claimed to be doing good that was, in reality, hiding the evil. A.I.M. told Carmilla that it was SHIELD who killed her parents and ask her to kill people and she accepted hoping she could find a way around it while still hiding her loyalty to SHIELD. Unfortunately, this did not work and she ended up killing hundreds of people with mustard gas which she was right in the middle of. She met another man who was like her and could survive things like mustard gas and poison and was immune to her stinger. It turns out Carmilla was bred to withstand all forms of poison, to be an almost perfect being to start the new world and that her parents were actually A.I.M. agents use to protect her. Meanwhile, SHIELD decided that she had become a liability and gave the order to have her liquidated.
Carmilla found herself hooking up with other people like herself only they had complete allegiance to A.I.M. because of a microorganism that reprogrammed their brains. Carmilla did not have this because her stringer counteracted it. Troy ended up finding her thanks to his dad's global positioning satellites. They got together and a firefight broke out between SHIELD and A.I.M. agents. Most of them died and Carmilla met up with Agent Khantata again and demanded to know about her parents. He told her A.I.M. was lying and they did kill her parents. The two decided to work together to take down A.I.M. disregarding SHIELD orders. The two joined up and took down the other people like Carmilla before they could do any harm. Before Carmilla attacked the one responsible for her parents death her real mother showed up and shot him saying she knew he was responsible for her parents death, but she didn't want him to know that she did. She comforted Carmilla , but SHIELD agents showed up and she said they've waited so long that they can wait a little longer before she teleported away. Khantata took the full wrath of disobeying SHIELD orders and proposed they used Carmilla as their own personal superhero. This was accepted and Khantata kept his SHIELD position without punishment and Carmilla became SHIELD's inside girl on the superhero scene.
Captain Universe
Carmilla and her SHIELD handler, Derek Khanata, were sent to watch over the spot where Captain Universe/Daredevil had fought and defeated four Class Three A.I.M. Commandos, to see if A.I.M. (who were at the site as well) would find anything.
Some kids interrupted their work and were almost murdered until X-23 intervened and became Captain Universe. Carmilla assisted X-23 in defeating the A.I.M. Commandos and then followed her in her seeking of a hidden base, with plans to capture her and learn all she could from A.I.M.
She was convinced to see the light by X-23 and let Captain Universe go, X-23 taking it to a safe place. Scorpion then took an A.I.M. scientist back to SHIELD to undergo interrogation.
Civil War
During the Superhuman Civil War, Carmilla remained loyal to the Pro-Registration forces, registering herself, and working with SHIELD to infiltrate the underground unregistered superhero network by portraying herself as such, so as to bring them down from within. On such one occasion, she was attacked by Mac Gargan, the former Scorpion and current host of the Venom symbiote, who believes she will ruin his trademark as he is negotiating with a Hollywood studio for a biographical movie of himself. While the insane criminal manages to get the upper hand on her at one point, Carmilla's powers react to the webbing generated by the symbiote, granting her a temporary "neo-symbiote" which acts as a biological armour, allowing her to defeat her ruthless namesake. She was later seen recieving training from The Initiative at Camp Hammond.
World War Hulk
For SHIELD, she had been sent to kill the Hulk by filling his body with a poison specifically designed to take him him. But instead it covered his body with boils which were soon healed by his Healing Factor when a rush of anger was brought on by Amadeus Cho. Later, Carmilla fought alongside The Hulk, Angel, Hercules and Namora as part of The Renegades and following the events of World War Hulk attempted to get a sample of Bruce Banner's DNA in the hopes of proving that he was her biological father. Unfortunately she had targeted a caravan with a decoy in it which she learned upon "freeing" Bruce.
Dark Reign
In Avengers: The Initiative #22, it was revealed that Carmilla is now Hardball's lover and is the co-leader of the HYDRA Training Facility in Madripoor that The Shadow Initiative is supposed to be taking out. Carmilla and Hardball confronted The Shadow Initiative along with an army of HYDRA Agents shortly after learning they were searching for Hardball and has them pinned down in an old alleyway somewhere deep within the slums of Madripoor. While she does care for Hardball, she eventually reveals to him that she is a double-agent working for an outside power, and understands that he cares about Komodo more than he does about her. Taking a sample of the experimental S.P.I.N. Tech being worked on by HYDRA scientists, Carmilla flees the training camp just as the Shadow Initiative and H.A.M.M.E.R. storm the facility, disappearing to return to her as-yet-unknown leader before she can be arrested along with Hardball.
Powers
Scorpion is immune to all kinds of poisons and toxins whether chemical or biological. She can absorb toxins and releasing them from her left hand, and can also control the concentration when releasing, varying from stunning her enemies to instantly killing them.
However she can't subdue the toxins completely, and being close to her for too long can cause nausea and sickness.
This powers has been genetically engineered by A.I.M, more specifically her mother Monica Rappacini.
Carmilla has also been trained in physical combat by SHIELD, and been outfitted with a special gauntlet containing various devices. She wears this gauntlet on her left arm and it helps protecting others from her toxins.
She also has a body that will stay in top physical shape no matter what she ingests. She also has most likely gained thievery skills in the three years she lived in the streets.
