Carlos is a musician who moves into Vanessa's neighborhood. He is a womanizer who boasts of how easily he tires of women, and would struggle to sleep with the same woman more than ten times. While he likes to portray himself to others as a rock star, he is unsuccessful as a musician, and the only gigs he plays are at local pubs and bars.

Carlos meets Vanessa when she is out with a friend, looking for someone who has ID and can buy them alcohol. Seeing an opportunity, Carlos agrees, and invites the two teenage girls back to his home where he attempts to entice them into sleeping together. While her friend leaves, Vanessa chooses to stay, and begins an affair with him.

After their affair is discovered, Carlos is brutally attacked by Vanessa's boyfriend, Whit, and is hospitalized. Prior to the attack, Carlos tells Vanessa he is already beginning to tire of her - when she visits him in hospital to apologize, he breaks up with her, leaving her with nobody.
