    Scientist Jim Logan discovered a means to tap into the powers of the universe while working in the United Nations Interplanetary Division's research laboratories. After "treating himself electronically" he becomes able to transform himself into the superhuman Captain Universe by saying the trigger word GALAP (Galileo, Archimedes, Leonardo Da Vinci, Aristotle, Pythagoras).

    Created by Mick Anglo for the Arnold Book Company, a subsidiary of L. Miller and Son, in 1954, around the same time he was also producing Marvelman for the parent company, Captain Universe starred in two issues of his own short-lived comic. In 2009 he reappeared as a member of Mina Harker's superhero team, the Seven Stars, in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century #1's Minions of the Moon section, where it was also revealed he was the brother of Jet-Ace Logan.
