    A captain in the Kree militia, Mar-Vell rebelled against a racist tyrannical empire to defend Earth and in so doing became the "Protector of the Universe" known as Captain Marvel. Since his tragic death to cancer, Captain Marvel has inspired many superheroes and heroines and his legacy is still felt throughout the Marvel universe.

    Captain Mar-Vell, the first Captain Marvel (in the Marvel Universe) died a long time ago. He has appeared or been resurrected many times but he ends up dead yet again. I want him back since I think he's the best Captain Marvel and a fun character. The official "Captain Marvel poll" starts here. Why do you want him back? Why don't you want him back?

    He shouldn't come back. It diminishes his death. Which isn't saying much for comic book characters, but Mar-Vell's death actually had some meaning and still does. If anything, they should bring back Genis and Phyla.

    I am a fan of Captain Marvel, but I don't think he should be brought back. Give Carol a chance in the role.. or let another legacy character take over. But I am probably in the minority in believing characters die they should stay dead.

    @citizenbane: was goIng to say exactly,that. hIs death was so significant bc even thanos hates cancer and felt sorry for his foe bc he wouldnt wish that on anyone

    I do really like Mar-Vell, but I'm not necessarily desperate to see him return.

    That being said, if they did bring him back, I would buy whatever series he was in.
