A mutant born with powers 100,000 years before his time, Adam Blake protects space as Captain Comet. Edit
Adam Blake is a mutant. His metahuman gene was activated by the light of a passing comet when he was born. These powers made him what man would be in 100,000 years, now.
The pinnacle of human evolution, his powers range from physical prowess (strength, invulnerability, speed) to mental (genius-level intellect, telepathy, telekinesis, clairvoyance). He also had new senses, allowing him to sense the power and emotions of other people. His telekinesis, his most used power, augments his strength, speed and allows him to fly in space without the need for equipment.
He first learned of his powers as a teenager, but waited until he was an adult before he started a full time career as a hero in the 1950's. Soon after, Captain Comet left earth to explore the grandness of the cosmos.
Eventually Captain Comet would take residence in the satellite city of Hardcore Station. Hardcore Station is a foul place ruled (usually fairly) by corporations. In a city fueled by greed and commerce, Captain Comet made his living as a hero and a mercenary. He shares his apartment with an intelligent and pragmatic bulldog named Tyrone, who is his source of information while he's out on jobs.
52
Captain Comet dies defending a planet from the invading armies of Lady Styx, a merciless demi-god with an army of worshippers. Before his death, Captain Comet transmitted his consciousness into the depths of space in the hopes of keeping himself alive.
One Year Later
In space his consciousness is drawn to the consciousness of The Weird. The collision of the two psychic forces propels both to different parts of Hardcore station, where they are inexplicably reborn.
Adam Blake discovers he has been de-aged. His new youthful body comes with a new costume and new golden eyes. He also finds out that his powers aren't as they were in the younger body. He's not as strong, not as invulnerable, and apparently not as smart. Adam believes this is due to his powers not being as developed as they were from years of using them in his previous body prior to his death.
This theory is questioned however when he discovers he has a new power: Teleportation. This power allows him to travel instantly to places he can picture in his mind, usually places he's been before. He has also shown an ability to "see" a place if he knows where to look and focuses, allowing him to teleport to specific locations in areas he's never been before. This was displayed when he was looking at a 3D blueprint of a building. He seemingly projected himself into the actual building, walking around before choosing a point to teleport too. For some reason it takes exactly 60 minutes for this power to recharge.
Adam Blake, now just Comet since admittedly he's never been the captain of anything, is being hunted by Lady Styx as well as The Eternal Light Corporation, a religion that is also a Space Fortune 500 company.
