    George "Digger" Harkness is a villain of The Flash (Barry Allen), he first appeared in The Flash #117 "Here Comes Captain Boomerang" in which he used the Captain Boomerang persona to commit crimes. He would later become a member of the Suicide Squad in the 1980s crossover event "Legends".

    Suicide Squad

    Digger Harkness is one of the reoccurring members of Task Force X during John Ostrander's run. It establishes a lot about the character and several of his traits. This series established his racism and his greedy and evil nature. This is a good starting point for readers who are unfamiliar with the character.

    Identity Crisis

    While only one of many characters within Identity Crisis. It gives an interesting take captain Boomerang, who is shown to be shadow of his former self and unwelcome among the other super villains, whilst at the same time giving him redemption as a character.

    Recounting his return after Blackest Night/Brightest Day, Captain Boomerang is forced to prove to his old team the Rogues that he is not in the same embarrassing shape as when he died.
