This issue gets 4.5 stars for a interesting, if a little slow, story and great visuals.
The second and last pages have beautiful panels, one of Captain Atom over a city, and one of him in front of the White House. I can't say enough how much I love the scale of the art in this series. There's only one punch thrown in the whole comic but we get some cool powers like CA's technopathy, and cool locals like Majestic's Mt. Rushmore Fortress of Solitude.
In this episode...
Grifter and Maul use Halo computers to track down the Void shards in Atom and Nikola while CA searches for DC's major cities. Atom finds that Metropolis, Gotham City, and others, are not there. He goes to San Diego to confirm that it is not his earth but the locals are too afraid of "capes" to help him. He takes a more human form but still can't get the info he needs. He finally uses a payphone to hack the world's information network and finds that all the supers on this earth are different from those on his earth. Meanwhile, Grifter assembles the WildC.A.T.S. to hunt down Atom while Grif himself goes to find Nikola. Majestic finds Atom first and takes him to his fortress in Mt. Rushmore. Majestic, having been to Atom's earth, tries to find a way to send CA back, but his super-magical computer says it can't be done. Grifter finds Nikola and confirms that she is the new Void. Atom bids farewell to Majestic and heads to the White House to try to find more help. We are left with Majestic's computer telling him that Captain Atom will destroy the universe and that it can't be stopped! DUM, DUM, DUMMM...
