All Time
Hands down, my absolute favorite Captain Atom cover ever. It captures that elegant smoothness that the cover two issues ago fell just short of. The simplistic beauty of the smooth Hindu god style Atom, and the red background of the very beginning of destruction.... breathtaking beauty. Can Choi draw the interiors as well? PLEASE?
The crayon effect is still here, but I barely noticed it this time. For once, EVERYTHING was firing on all cylinders. The timestream got a few new kinks to it, the revelations of all true villains of the arc, the near-perfect world Captain Atom will create.
I lost myself in it, but upon retrospect I begin to wonder. How could Captain Atom lead the world through such change as a universally worshipped God in only twenty years; in a world like the DC Universe? That's a question that might be answered but hasn't. Was HAS been answered is why the hell a volcano happened in the first issue. Foreshadowing is best when it's subtle, and a volcano in New York DEMANDED explanation. But having the explanation here worked fine.
Philosophy gets incredible here, and Captain Atom explores the world in which he is God, and he sees that the deeds he should regret are reversed. Devotion, love, world spirituality... it's hard to do this issue full justice in a simple review. Long story short, this is deep.
In Conclusion: 5/5
Time + God + Love + Philosophy = Chrono Mota
Chrono Mota + Art + Layouts = Amazing
