    Captain Atom #5

Captain Atom » Captain Atom #5 - Man or Monster released by DC Comics on March 2012.

    Short summary describing this issue.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

Captain Atom likes to think of himself as a hero, but he can't shake visions of another fate that could be far more monstrous. And maybe there's more truth to this nightmare than he'd like to believe as he finally comes face-to-face with the bizarre creature that's been lurking in the shadows.

Captain Atom wrestles with the guilt of hurting Ranita Carter. He is wanted by the United States Air Force and not trusted by Doctor Scott Alexander of the Continuum Research Facility. He ends up in the town of Washington where he discovers a whole town has been killed by some kind of monster that is both familiar and yet alien to the Captain.

The Decay of the Captain Atom 0

Stanley Lau was on fire with these Captain Atom covers, but this one's not too great. The close perspective is bland, the blurred background is boring, the bright colors are a little too weird, Captain Atom is a bit too perfectly straight... it just doesn't work on any level.Page 1: THAT IS THE BEST DAMN TURTLE I'VE EVER SEEN!Page 2: Oh yeah, Freddie Williams II draws Captain Atom in crayon or something. Sigh.Certainly Williams does some cool things with the opening scene in terms of layouts, an...

    Turtles Rule 0

Captain Atom #5 at long last forces our hero to confront the creature that has been foreshadowed throughout the first 4 issues, which puts to rest some of the fears I was developing, but at the same time I feel Krul has introduced the beast in such a strong way in this part of the story that it kinda makes it's appearances in the previous issues meaningless: everything we gleamed from past events is told to us in a very satisfactory way in a couple of pages. This is in no way a negative thing fo...
