Who would be the best actor for movie captain america?
JCVD is French-Belgian. Automatic disqualifier.
John Cena is a WWE quality actor. 'Nuff said.
Dolph Lundgren: also not American, too old, and heavy accented.
Being muscular doesn't instantly make someone a fit if they're a weak actor... You do realize that the movie has already been made? Chris Evans did fine.

Van Damme is a martial artist and great fighter, and would have made a better performance that Evans

Because a 1940s Brooklyn kid with a few weeks of military service would be well-versed in east Asian martial arts and bicep flexing......Sure, the fight scenes would've been pretty, the rest of the film would've tanked. JCVD is old as dirt, too.
Chris Evans is perfectly fine. The only other actor in that list that could probably pull Cap off is Brad Pitt.

Out of the five, only two are actors, and of those two, one already is Captain America, and he did an outstanding job.
Seriously though, if Van Damme where younger (mid 20s -mid 30s) he could be a good Gambit.
I can actually picture this.

Gambit ???
The fight between Red Skull vs Cap-Van Damme would have been interesting,
showing a variety of techniques and spectacular kicks
