Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.

    What issue was caps shield vapourized/disintegrated?

    Long ago when i first started reading comics in late 80's early 90's, caps shield was vapourized and then cap was killed. I think it was an old What If issue. Could anyone please help, calling all cap fans who know hell alot more than i do! just want to find that issue again n add to my collection of comics as it takes me back n gutted got rid of or lost the issue!

    No idea. I do however remember in Secret Wars his shield had lots of chips broken off.
