During World War II, Steve Rogers volunteered to receive the experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.
If the basic design Cap has sported for 70 years wasn't sacred enough to be the movie costume, then why should the Cap-movie costume be too sacred to change?
I personally like the one they're using in the First Avenger, but maybe they might do the chain mail and metal wings for the Avengers?

The problem with the metal wings is that they would basically be handles attached to his head, and in a fight that's a very bad thing to have. Hopefully they use the chainmail though.
