If Steve Rogers were in DC and he'd been given a Green Lantern Ring instead of Super Soldier Serum, where would he rank amongst the greats of the Green Lantern Corps?
Captain America
Character » Captain America appears in 11750 issues.
During World War II, Steve Rogers volunteered to receive the experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.
Steve Rogers as a Green Lantern
But that would probably be his best fit for a Power Ring Corps
:)
1) Kyle Rayner
2) Hal Jordan
3) Guy Gardner
4) Matt Murdock
5) Steve Rogers
6) John Stewart
7) Kilowog
8) Sodam Yat (Given more time, he could be in the top 3, maybe 1st)
9) Rond Vidar (He had serious willpower. Prime couldn't even break his shields and his intellect allowed him to meet on levels intellectually with Querl Dox.)
10) Mar-Vell
1) Kyle Rayner
2) Steve Rogers
3) Hal Jordan
4) Matt Murdock
5) John Stewart
6) Mar-Vell
7) Kilowag
8) Guy Gardner
9) Sodam Yet
10) Katma Tui
@Sexy Merc: I think Steve is probably going to be a natural fit in the Green or Blue Lanterns, Matt might take a little while adjusting to the ring. Especially the return of his sight. Katma while not as impressive as some you listed is one of my favorite Lanterns. I've only started reading Green Lantern in the past two years (I've read Sinestro Corps Wars, but can't read Blackest Night for some reason), but going through the back issues I have a soft spot for her. I think Sinestro is more considered a yellow lantern now, so I didn't even consider him in my list, but if he were then I'd say probably right after Hal.
He is a symbol of hope for the Marvel Universe, so as a Blue Lantern, he would probably be very powerful. He does have a lot of willpower though, I can never forget his fight against Iron Man in Civil War, during which he showed an enormous amount of willpower.
first..i always dreamed of how cool it would be to illustrate a book where various characters became Lanterns,
and Steve was included in that fantasy. Imagine the fun you could have with that. Just loosely, the obvious one
is the shield he could make, then the many variations on that. Make things like big flags, eagles, WW2 tanks and
planes, ect. There's an endless them to tap from with Steve that would look great visually every time.
As for where he would stand thinking realistically about it I actually don't think he would. I think Steve
would come to blows with the other already established ranking Lantern elite, as he always tends to.
Steve has never been much for cosmic fairing. I think he would do what it takes to pass on the position
so he could keep his focus on defending the country and planet that he loves.
