Given that in the Marvel Universe, the Earth's new(at least in mainstream- 616- continuity) Sorcerer Supreme was Dr Voodoo and in the "real world" the US President is an African American, Barack Obama, it comes as no surprise that Sam Wilson, aka the Falcon is tapped to become the new"Captain America".
True, we've had black superheroes before( and even some Afro-American superheroines such as Storm, Pulsar, Wildstreak) such as Blue Marvel, the Black Panther and others like Bishop or War Machine/Iron Patriot but we've never had the epitome of America being represented by a black man.
My advice to Sam Wilson is to pretty much do the role of Cap as you think best you are NOT Steve Rogers and NEVER will be(anyway Steve is from a different generation as well as a different race!)
Wonder what other black heroes/heroines will make of the "new" Cap. Why not pension off Steve?-let him get married and raise a family- more than anyone else he has more than earned the right to kick back and let others carry the load he has shouldered for nearly 70 years!
