It sounds like you're basing your opinions off of only the Fantastic Four films. Have you seen any of his other work?

I didn't liked FF, the cast was weak, and i can't imagine Evans as Captain America. Hope i'm wrong and he´s great.

dude, why not have christian bale play cap?  or hugh jackman.  Superhero movies can't keep spitting out "a proven actor" in a new superhero role.  That is why Thor will be better than Cap.  Mark my words.  They'd be way better off with an unknown.  This kid is way too jokey.  Cap is a no nonesense soldier.  This dude is a dorky wisecracker.  I'll bet half these posts are from his team of publicists.  How's he gonna lead the avengers with that persona???  I've been waiting for this movie ever since the ed norton hulk movie mentioned it.  I even have the shield they show in iron man as my desktop.  how many of you even read cap anymore.

I'd have prefered someone else as Cap but only because I have a vested interest.  Evans will do a fine job.

In all seriousness, though, watch "Sunshine." You should watch it anyway, but Chris Evans is really good in it. He's an actor, if you want him to play a goofy guy like Johnny Storm, he'll do it. That doesn't mean he'll always act like that, or he can't do serious roles. 
Don't worry, Captain America will be great. And if it isn't, you can just ignore it and act like it doesn't exist (like we all do with 90% of existing comic book movies).

well he is gob-ish, okay,  but i honestly think given the chance he could do justice to the role even if he is portrayed as the funny guy all the time on the office, i can see Jim dawning the shield. my friend said he was being considered for the role but i was pretty sure he was full of it. it got me thinking though "

personally i could take or leave evans as cap. but i'd still rather see sam worthington or andy whitfield as cap, i couldnt care less that neither are actually american

The film will suck if the DIRECTOR makes it suck.  Do you think Batman and Robin would have sucked if the director took it seriously?  Daredevil, Electra, Hulk (friggin Ang Lee); etc.  It's all about what the director decides and allows, not the actor.
