it was announced today that Matthew McConaughey may be in the running for the role of Captain America in the new movie...What do you guys think?
Captain America
Character » Captain America appears in 11750 issues.
During World War II, Steve Rogers volunteered to receive the experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.
Matthew McConaughey as Captain America
If he can reign in the accent, it could work. I just can't hear Cap as a good ol' boy...
"Hey y'all. Avengers done assemble!"
A hot goofus...minus the whole B.O. problem.

Alexander Anderson says:
"No. Just no. I'd rather have a complete unknown in the role than a goofus like Matthew McConaughey."
Amen to that. He's too dorky or something.

Hahaha i know! But he seriously is a good pick for more than the obvious reasons. lol..."
I thought so. I'm glad you agree.
i really don't want matthew mcconaughey anywhere near a comic book film...i was watching the movie pathfinder today and the guy, i can't remember his name, who played the lead in it might be a good cap
Matthew McConaughey could work as Captain America. I could see it happening. If the casting crew is anything like the casting crew they had for Iron Man, I would completely support this decision.
mcconaughey is the stoner, slacker type. that's pretty much the opposite of captain america. plus, i dont think people realize how difficult it's going to be to pull this movie off. there is absolutely no room for error with a pro-america, story-line-in-the-1940s, nice-guy-with-no-super-powers, movie. it has to be flawless, and if it is, i think it could be marvel's crown jewel. that said, there needs to be a real actor in there to somehow make those corny lines work. there is no proof that mcconaughey can act, given the movies he's been in. and i think pitt is an interesting choice. troy, fight club, meet joe black, legends of the fall? say what you want about him, but he can act, and even though he's pushing 50, he can still look the part too.
Apparently there's a poll going on in which John Cena will play Captain America. Friend of mine told me, but I hope to God he's just being a douche.

McConaughey as Captain America would make me laugh for 20 minutes, until I realize that the film is serious, in which I would cry and possibly cut at my own face for the remainder of the film. John Cena, no. The Calvin Klein guy, no. Brad Pitt? Possibly. But, I dunno. Maybe the guy in Thank you for Smoking, if he really, really...REALLY beefed up.

Can you blame her?
Did he ban her from sex scenes?

they haven't cast anyone yet all that has been said is that the producers would like brad pitt as thor, nothing is set in stone yet
here is the article from ign on pitt as thor:
While it looks like Marvel Studios' big screen version of Thor is in need of a new director, the rumor mill suggests the studio is nevertheless moving ahead with casting and is mulling a certain A-list star to play their god of thunder.
According to Latino Review, Marvel is eyeing none other than Brad Pitt to play Thor. Pitt's no stranger to playing ancient armored heroes, having previously portrayed Achilles in Wolfgang Petersen's Troy.
The site points out that "no offer has been made to Pitt yet," but that he's high up on their wish list.
