I don't remember where I read it, but I recall reading about how Iron Fist's chi increases his abilities to peak/super-human level naturally. So I was wondering if chi is just a natural version of the super-soldier serum?

his chi isnt totally his. IF is a bad example because his chi is melded with a dragon

Yes. You are correct. Chi for the most part means natural energy and IF can indeed use his own personal Chi to raise his stats to peak human (as stated in the original marvel handbook). His Iron Fist ability, however, is powered by Chi derived from the mystic serpent which is what makes it so powerful.
