Captain America
Character » Captain America appears in 11752 issues.
During World War II, Steve Rogers volunteered to receive the experimental Super-Soldier Serum. Enhanced to the pinnacle of human physical potential and armed with an unbreakable shield, he became Captain America. After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.
Chris Evans Offered Role Of Captain America
We're all waiting to hear who will be cast as Steve Rogers, Captain America. Originally it was said casting would be completed by March 1. Earlier today iesb.net reported that the choice had been narrowed down to three contenders: Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan and Channing Tatum. The Hollywood Reporter is now saying that Chris Evans has been offered the role.
There has been no official confirmation from Marvel or the actor's representatives. The offer is said to include up to three Captain America movies, The Avengers movies along with appearances in other Marvel movies. Because this would guarantee him work for a while, you would think it'd be an easy decision to make. The problem is, Evans is apparently committed to co-star with Anna Faris in a romantic comedy called "What's Your Number?" and both are set to begin shooting this summer.
Sure it might be weird to see Johnny Storm as Steve Rogers (plus he'll be in The Losers and Scott Pilgrim) but I don't think it's that big of a deal. We've already had Ryan Reynolds play Hannibal King in Blade Trinity as well as Deadpool and soon Hal Jordan. As a big Captain America fan, I would approve of this casting. Let's just hope that something can be worked out with his other movie commitment. Things didn't go well for Emily Blunt, who was originally a top contender to play Black Widow in Iron Man 2.
If this is Marvel's choice then I'll trust them. After nailing Iron Man and Hulk, I don't think they'd mess up Captain America.
Perhaps this'll work, but that's only if Human Torch gets replaced with someone else. I think the best choice so far is Channing Tatum, because he looks a little like Steve, is quite muscular and he's played GI Joe, and the one thing that GI Joe and Capt. America have in common, is that they're both REAL AMERICAN HEROES!!!!
HMMMMMMMMMM I think he is a better pick than some so I wouldnt mind if he became captain america but he isnt big enough.
He was probably the best things to come out of the FF films but im not sure if thats something to be happy about.

Hulk, Electra, Spiderman 3, X-men 3, punsher War zone. Wolverine ,and FF2 all fall into the "meh at best" to "ewwwww im unclean" range. im not so sure they nhave this under control yet...
if Evans gets the ROle it would be SOOO Whack... not the Movie... but it would still be whack
i was ok with Ryan being DP... even tho he was Hannibal King... cuz.. i mean its Hannibal King...
but when he accepted the role as GL i was annoyed now Chris Evans will be Cap/Loser/and Torch.... WHACK...
and u kno what
Robert Downey JR should Play as ANT-MAN...
and Ryan Reynolds should play Flash... and His Sidekick Kid Flash should be Chris Evans
and Wesley SNipes should be Black Panther...
Christian Bale should be the next Superman
then Ryan Reynolds should be HAwkeye
Brandon Routh should be Visions
Scarlet Witch should be Scarlett Johansson
and Tobey McGuire should be Quicksilver
Not bad, not outstanding. Was hoping they would go for a complete unknown or someone younger but I just want them to make this movie already. Evans always has a certain "cocky attitude" in almost all the movies I have seen him in.
The more I hear about these actors the more I realize how hard it will be for an actor to live up to Captain America. I hope whoever Marvel picks, he does the character right...
Marvel doesn't pick. Sony or who ever has the movie rights does. SO we just KNOW they'll screw it up.
I just hate how they offer all comic book roles to a small select group of actors. If they ever wanted to do a Cap America/ Fantastic Four crossover movie or any movie in which the characters would come across one another, what then? I mean casting Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool AND Green Lantern is one thing (considering they're from two separate universes) but one actor playing two Marvel roles at the same time doesn't sit well w/ me for some reason.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
guess im not gunna b enjoying this flick in the theatre... CHRIS EVANS as CAP??? are u kidding me???
