After a failed mission left him encased in ice for decades, he was found and revived by the Avengers, later joining their ranks and eventually becoming the team's leader.

    Ok so I'm just wondering how Captain America is the first Avenger if Thor has been around before Hawkeye, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, or Black Widow were even thought of

    Because Thor wasn't part of a government team until now? Cap was in WW2, that's the only thing I can think of.
