This week Sega announced their Captain America: Super Soldier video game. Yesterday I gave my wacky thoughts on a First Person Shooter WWII game with Captain America. We all know that comic book video games tend to suffer from the same problems. Perhaps it will be possible that this game will differ from others, especially since it's not necessarily a straight movie-game tie in. 
 
Today, CaptainUseless came across this video from New York Comic Con and wanted to share it with all of you. Check it out:

Looks okay. Not as lame as the Iron Man game, though the shield throwing looks a little crappy

This looks as terrible as I was expecting it would... Oh well...

the gameplay looked mediocre, it's the actual controls which worry me as IM2's were atrocious as well as the scenes between gameplay.

I hate the idea of the shield returning!!! they need to make the game believeable. if cap throws the shield it should not come back instead it shoud depend on how its thrown. sometimes bouncing close to a return but not a full return, and other times bouncing out of reach in which cap would have to rely on his steller Martial Arts and or "guns" (always feel cap should carry a gun) but never kill people just injure them in the legs and arms. the idea that the Shield always retunrs is kinda stupid and cheezy. it would also drasticly change the way the game is played and make the player use the Shield more smartly instead of throwing it all the time.

They have a good walkthrough of the demo on Gametrailers dot com, shows more of the game mechanics n stuff which I though looked not to shabby. 
 
But they should aim for a Batman Arkham asylum kinda combat system I reckon 

It might have just been the way the video was shot, but the colors all seemed far too bright for a WWII period piece. The costume doesn't look nearly as good as they've made the classic look come across in the Ultimate Alliance games.

The thing is, a demo like this is meant to show off something about the game that will make people go "wow", but everything about what we just saw was mediocre at best...

Looks pretty good so far, my only complaint at what I did see was Cap's shield being on his back most of the time, it should be on his arm when he's in combat like that. Other than that, from what I saw this looks pretty good, but the fact that it's from Sega puts my hopes down after having played both Iron Man and Iron Man 2, so you can't really blame anyone for low expectations for this. But I still like to have hope, especially since it's a game based solo on Captain America! :D

Eeeeh, Cap looked a little goofy and I still didn't get a huge grasp on how it'll play, but it looks passable. 
Shield throwing at the very least seems like it'll be fun.

To be fair it IS a movie game. Mediocre is the best it can be, imo.

If you look at the company's past efforts, you'll see that they've only done sports games (mostly Wii) and Spider-Man: Friend of Foe, so it's not surprising that it's not really on par with current games...

Little Hydra logo on the robot. I'm guessing it's some kind of Sleeper robot, but with the talking and the video console in the chest (or what looks like one), it could be a revamped Arnim Zola.

Sega stopped making good games after the ps3 came out 
 
i just can't get into them like iron man 2 that sucked

The costume is horrible, I hope he has some better lookin' alternate costumes and we need some super guns fit for a super soldier.

It's a good start. Love the shield work but gameplay is slightly sluggish and needs to be improved

I really wanted this game to be awesome... but I kinda doubt that. I know it isn't a game of the movie, but still it is in a certain way. Movie's games never works out. 
Captain America FPS would be awesome, like a Call of Duty or a Battlefield. But this one reminds me of Marvel Ultimate Alliance, that by the way... was horrible.

Shield Throw looks nice, but it may help if there was a path that could show where the shield would go when thrown.

Though its still pretty far from being completed i'm still saying it will bloooooooow

It's not really comic book games that end up badly (hey! I got a handfull of amazing ones on 8, 16 and 32-bits systems!) but movie games :/
 
This is a game adaptation of the upcoming movie with Chris Evans, right? Right?
(I spot a different title!..)

I got some footage from the show that is much better quality than this, so I'll post that for you guys later this week!
