    Other than him simply leading the Avengers, can someone name some instances where Cap displayed his superior strategic skills?

    Its not canon, but he came up with the battle plan for the Avengers and Justice League in Avengers v JLA.

    Wasn't that particular crossover canon? I know the Cosmic Egg thing appeared in another JLA story, and didn't Marvel and DC both officially declare it as happening?
