So Cap will, indeed, be throwing the shield in his big ol’ movie in July. Superhero Hype’s found this preview of the new trailer that’s going to run on Entertainment Tonight this evening. Aside from the aforementioned retention of Cap’s classic M.O., we can also see that Scrawny Steve is actually going to be part of a larger selection of candidates eyed for Operation: Rebirth. In the original comics, it was literally just him. Latter comics put in a small pool of other 4-H’s unfit for service because of obesity or respiratory ailments who went through rigorous training supervised by the OSS on the home front. This looks like it’ll just be soldiers pulled out from active duty while they’re in the field. Cap’s also notably firing a pistol in one of those quick cuts, making it pretty clear that he’ll be using some lethal force in his dealings with Hydra’s dreadnoughts. For a long time in the comics, it was established that he managed to never take a life during the war (thus making the much latter killing of Baron Blood that much harder a task for him.)
It doesn't look like he'll be having such qualms in this one.
Anyway, savor these fleeting glimpses for yourself... == TEASER ==UPDATE: And you can see a crystal clear clip here from Paramount showing scrawny but stubborn Steve getting bullied in the back alleys of New York. Seamless CGI slimed down Mr. Evans, no?
