So earlier this month I started reading a Captain America series that was started in 2004. I am almost through it but now they have retitled it Captain America and Bucky. That's weird but ok I'll live. Now I also find out that they are announcing Captain America #1 his solo series. Wait what? Why retitle the other one and then start a new Cap series? You know other then to cash in on the movie which comes out in July. Any insights? And Steve Rogers Super-Soldier was just gonna be a mini and never anything more? Does he still wear that suit? Someone has to know more than I. Any guidance would be appreciated along with minimal spoilers.

Basically Marvel has this fear that when a major movie comes out, new fans won't be able to grasp the concept that things are different in the comics then what they saw in the movie they just went to see and are apparently to dumb to understand that these stories have been going on for decades and have grown into much more deeper stories and won't be able to understand that for some reason. Thus, their solution is to take years of story lines and great character growth and throw it all out the window so that these fans (which in truth about 99% of most movie goers who see these movies will never think about picking up a comic boo, EVER) will be able to understand the stories they are now reading. Thus slapping every dedicated reader who have spent years and hard earned money reading these amazing stories and enjoying them in the face by taking those stories and acting as if they NEVER happened.

If Marvel really is concerned about new readers not "getting it" when it comes to their cannon, they should just make movie-verse comics (Oh. They're doing that...) and maybe have reprints (..... They do that too) and-- and.... wait, why the flying hell does Marvel need to undo the character devolopment if they already have readily available "casual reader starter" books?! WTF??!?!?!?

ExactlyNot to mention that last time I checked, the whole point of the Ultimate Universe was to help new readers to start reading about these characters without the decades of history and stories and help them slowly move into the main Marvel Universe.

Ultimate Universe outlived that purpose long ago, IMO. It's history is old enough that the premise is long past gone. Now it's just here for people who started reading Ultimate. One can't just pick up an Ultimate Book now. Gotta start with the trades. Which is what one could do with the regular universe; so there's no point.

You know Thor's new ongoing? It's pretty  much that for Captain America. It'll be Steve Rogers kicking ass in his own book and will probably have nothing to do with what's going on in main continuity (but is still canon)... Marvel has been getting progressively worse with continuity... 

Did anyone ever read Steve Rogers Super Soldier? It ended with leaving more story left to tell. Was that concluded in a Secret Avengers book or something?
