FAAAAARRRGGGGGG!

Sorry. I'm in control now.

Gah, I hope that's just concept art, because really, the last thing I want Cap to wear in the sequel is the Super-Soldier uniform with the Cap helmet. It looks ridiculous. I like both outfits separately, but not together.

I still want the star on the suit

I really hope him not having his ears covered up makes it past the concept art this time. Other than that it looks pretty good. I thought his Avengers costume was pretty bad, so we can only go up.

I was thinking the same thing, the super soldier costume looks pretty bad with the helmet

I don't mind it.

@stormbox Indeed. Ugh this is gonna take some getting used to.....

This costume needs less brown & black, and more red & white.

Eww the really cool Steve Rodgers Super Soldier suit was designed and only works without a mask.

I highly doubt this is going to be the costume. It's pretty much the exact pattern as the super soldier uniform.

IT IS NOT THIS HARD TO MAKE A GOOD LOOKING MOVIE CAPTAIN AMERICA COSTUME.

Seriously.

They got it right IN HIS FIRST MOVIE. WHY is a modern version so hard?!

Chainmail,where r u?

Spandex works when it's drawn and nowhere else. Glad to see he's wearing a proper uniform in the second one. Hopefully it carries over into the second Avengers movie.

As great is this costume looks, it's how it looks on Evans that counts and I'm confident Marvel made sure it looked right.

Overall, this design looks like 2 parts "Super Soldier" and one part Cap's current (Jerome Opena) costume which is clearly shown in the pants and knee pads. Taking elements of the SS costume was something I never considered. I figured the Cap 2 design would be inspired by the Marvel Now, the First Avenger, and/or Captain Bucky costume (a left field choice I know). Using the Super Soldier costume elements was the best choice in terms of realistic feel. Too bad they couldn’t implement the “chain-mail” armor from the Opena costume.

The Bad? Well…the lower torso (abbs) looks weird. Since the red and white stripes were excluded, they should have redesigned that area entirely. Not sure about the color selection either. On one hand it’s the right tone for that realistic soldier look, but at the same time I feel they toned down the colors too much. If they tweaked it closer to blue it would be so bad.

Either way the color tone defiantly explains why the shield is so muted.

With time I’ll learn to love it.

Oh this is the costume alright, if you look at the Chris Evans pic you can see he's wearing fingerless gloves. And this is the same artist behind those Avengers posters, so I'm sure he got it right.

@dmc: There's other concept arts though. I don't mind it looking like that, I just hope it's colored differently. I need more red and white. But lets not forget the other pieces of concept arts we saw. For all we know he could be using different colored costumes for different missions. The one we're discussing could be his urban or night special ops costume. He is also a soldier after all and Soldiers change their BDUs for the mission at hand.

I don't know if this is a flash back because that Motorcycle looks really modern.

@slimj87d: I highly doubt that Cap's gonna have different costumes for different missions. He's not Iron Man. Outside of his enhanced physical abilities, military training and the shield he doesn't need much else.

Well other than the minor peripherals he has in his belt. He does use them from time to time.

Exactly, he's not Iron Man. He's a soldier.

But I also want to bring up that the artist for this art we see above also draws the costumes for the action figure toyline and this could just be a promo for one of his toys.

The suit isn't very Captain America. It's modeled after a time where Steve decided not to be Captain America even. I don't see them going with it and I really hope they don't unless if they change the coloring.

$10 bucks says you're wrong : P

You're right, the suit isn't very Captain America, but you said it yourself, he's a soldier, a Super Soldier in fact and in the end maybe that's all that matters. I would have liked to see more of the original design and colors in the outfit as well but I think there's enough here to show that he represents America and I'm sure they'll still call him Captain America.

On a side note, remember Caps "Age of X" look? That's one of the first things that came to mind when I saw this costume, well the colors at least.

@dmc: Well we'll just have to wait and see till the movie comes out to see the costume for ourselves.

I personally don't think the costume suits the movie. And the backlash I have read on other boards and heard from other people, it's not doing too well.

I prefer the Avengers costume to this. It wasn't as good as his solo movies' costume but it felt more like Captain America.

looks nice, I think for a darker movie they had to change his costume and make it look a bit darker. Being that Cap will meet his long dead friend.

I love the costume, just not the head piece. In the comics, he doesn't wear a head piece with this costume

And I was right. He is using different costumes throughout the movie. I'm guessing the navy blue one is his stealth costume modeled after the Air Force special forces BDUs.

This one is classic kick ass Merica costume.

SUCK IT DMC!

It could also be a change in philosophies for Cap. Remember in Avengers when Coulson told him about his suit and Cap said "Isn't it a little old fashioned?" The Commander Rogers suit could be an attempt for Cap to be more "modern", thinking that's what is for best, but then halfway through the movie he realizes that "A little old fashioned is what we need" and changes to something more Captain America-ish. Kind of, basically, a self revelation, if you will, It's just a thought, though.

I just wanted to take the harassment a bit further and tell DMC to SUCK IT AGAIN!

In all seriousness, the Russo brothers hint that he might have more outfits for different occasions in the movie.
