So I am fairly new to comics and I want to get into Captain America. I've read a few issues from NOW but I wasn't impressed. I just picked up Cap. #1 by Ed Burbanker and I really liked it. Mostly because it was more realistic than the issues I've read from the current Cap title.

So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

@jplasma: Read ALL of Brubakers run, it's the best Cap run to date.

Yup, read all of Ed Brubaker's Captain America, definitely great if you prefer the more realistic Cap.

I'd also recommend Captain America: Man out of Time. It's a great origin tale showing Cap adjusting to a new America after he was taken out of the ice.

I concur with the whole of Brubaker's run. One of my favorites of all time.

Brubaker's run is a great read and arguably one of the best ever.
