Super-Hero Hype recently reported on a few pictures in the French edition of Premiere. The biggest reveal is that of actor Sebastian Stan playing the character James "Bucky" Barnes, Captain America's loyal sidekick. Although it is only one picture at this time, he does look pretty young and have the old Bucky haircut that many fans are familiar with.

The magazine includes a few more pictures including one of Hydra and one of Red Skull before he is transformed, but there is a small piece of news also out of this. Chris Evans was previously rumored to be contracted for 9 films as Cap, he put rumors to rest in this interview, which was translated from English to French and then back to English:

"To be honest," he says in a quote translated back from French, "it was quite intimidating to commit to nine films in a row. Thankfully, we reduced the number to six... If all goes as planned, I will be playing Captain America until I'm 40."

     == TEASER ==

So according to Premiere, as long as there was no "lost in translation" moment, Chris Evans, who is playing Steve Rogers in the film, is signed on to do six films in a row. Hopefully this franchise has enough steam to go the distance.

This image of Hydra Agents also popped up in the magazine, and we know they will have a big impact on the story. It's a big change from what the comic book versions of Hydra Agents look like, but I don't remember seeing too much green and yellow costumes in old World War II footage, so maybe it's a good thing. The costumes seem to match the time and I hope the tone of the film.

There is also a shot of Red Skull before he is transformed into the Red Skull, but it's nothing really noteworthy. Click here to check it out.

The film, Captain America: The First Avenger, will hit theaters in 2D and 3D (why?) on July 22nd.

    Update

A clearer picture of Bucky has been released. Director Joe Johnston also talked to the LA Times about Sebastian Stan, the actor portraying Bucky.
    No Caption Provided

“Sebastian brought something really interesting and slightly on the dark side and really compelling to watch — when he’s on camera, you’re fascinated by watching him,” Johnston said. “In a great cast, I thought he really stood out and brought some unexpected things to the role. Everyone brought something to the movie and a lot of them brought something great but I was most pleasantly surprised by what Chris brought and what Sebasatian brought in a much smaller role as Bucky.”

I know it's hard to tell, but is that the movie version of Bucky's costume he's wearing?  I figured he would've just been a serviceman who Cap befriends (kinda like Ultimate Bucky, but an actual soldier and not a photographer).

     " 3D (why?) on July 22nd "

Because the industry barreled money into stereoscopic technology as a hopeful fix-all to poor theater attendance. Even though "3D" screenings don't really do nearly the amount of business they were hoping, they continue to cling to it, hoping it catches on. Even worse, wasn't this shot traditionally and is being converted to stereoscope? Good luck seeing anything. Stereoscope conversion makes the image darker and flatter. If the cinematography is how I expect it to be, that'll make a good deal of the film difficult to make out.

I'll be seeing it in 2D, the way it was shot and the way it will look far superior. Let me know if Cap's shield flying at you in 3D is worth the upcharge.

Yea he might be Chris might be playin Cap for six more movies but his commitment is doubtful because he left the torch for this but i guess he had the right because Marvel studios is said to be doing a reboot in that as well but us as fans think he is the cause of this and some just dont ecen think he is a good fit for cap so im guessing he will be keeping blonde hair for a while then wont he

i have some questions about this movie hoping someone can help me out.....
    1) is this movie being done based on d past or present time?
    2) does this film not contain the invaders?
    3) will bucky be the one in original universe who later becomes the winter soldier? or will he just become an old man by d time cap is unfrozen? (like in the "ultimate" universe)

p.s. you have to admit that the movies are more ultimate universe than the original

I guess caps identity is not a secret in this movie as he is in uniform without a mask and walking past soldiers marching in the the other direction. He looks really dumb wearing that leather jacket over the Cap outfit. Its almost as if the makers of this film are ashamed that he has to represent the good old U.S.A. The Hydra agents look terrible and silly and  there is really no good reason to replace Nazis with them anyway. I am really hoping the Superbowl commercial changes my opinion but so far it appears almost all the wrong choices have been made with this movie.

Matt, Bucky "with a dark side" is nothing new.  Look at Brubaker's run.  Bucky was shown as a much darker character, even during the war when Captain America first met him was a highly skilled fighter who became a much more "wetworks" style soldier.

    3 questions:
    - is this movie going to focus on War World II era or are we going to see cap in 21 century?
    - are we going to see how Bucky turns to Winter Soldier?
    - what is Nick Fury role in this movie?

1.The movie is set entirely in WW2

2.Not sure but doubtful, the movie will most likely end with Cap being frozen in ice or being found by Nick Fury in the present

Actually not only are Nazi's in the movie, they are recreating that famous comicbook cover of captain america punching hitler in the face. Hydra is supposed to be a fraction of the nazi party.
A quote from Cris evans that came out today sums it up nicely:
"When this comic book was created, at a time of Hitler and the Nazis, it was an evil we can all agree was evil! It's pretty much not up for debate. Nobody is like, 'No, the Nazis were alright and I'm gonna tell you why! It's the [frick]ing Nazis and they're going down."

" Why HYDRA?? Why?? They could have made an awesome, darker Cap movie set in the war, but then they go ahead and toss Nazis out of the war??? SRSLY?? "

It's the [frick]ing Nazis and they're going down." "
Okay...but I still have a feeling that HYDRA will become too comicbook-y.
